Control Room
The Control Room, under the watchful eye of a dedicated Control Room Manager, operates on a 3 shift basis, each working 12 hours. In our current operation there is 1 Control Room Supervisor and 2 Control Room Operators that make up each shift. They rotate equally between alarm monitoring, dispatching and coordinating Armed Response Officers and actively monitor our network of CCTV cameras, currently consisting of 412 cameras. All of our Control Room operators are trained and certified in accordance with these regulations. Training records are available at all times.
Armed Response & Access Officers
Crime Prevention Patrols operate on a 24 hour basis with suburb dedicated vehicles. Patrollers are trained to actively seek out criminal activity with the aim of preventing incidents before they occur.
Their role is primarily to supervise the shift, supervise the crime scene, monitor patrol officers’ duties, monitor criminal activity, assist clients, monitor and coordinate the activity of the shift, and have constant liaison with the Control Room. They ensure that the shift operates within the strict guidelines of both the Company’s and PSIRA’s.
Response officers operate in conjunction with the Control Room on a three shift basis, each operating for 12 hours. Each officer is qualified to a minimum of Grade C within the PSIRA regulations and Armed Response module and have full training in the use of handguns for business purposes. Refresher training is given every 6 months with practical shoots.
The Crime Watch SA Armed Response Officers are managed by Operations Manager Ricardo Carelse, who has extensive experience in the crime prevention business, joining Crime Watch in 2006. His knowledge of the area is exceptional. Ricardo is a fully qualified SASSETA (Safety & Security Sector Education and Training Authority) assessor and carries out training for many other crime prevention businesses.
